About Us
Indiana Emergency Care was founded in 1996 by three emergency physicians. We staff our sites with Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians and Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants. We operate 5 Emergency Departments in throughout the state of Indiana including IU-Arnett in Lafayette (Level III Trauma Center); St. Vincent Neighborhood Hospital in Noblesville & Brownsburg (Free-Standing ED); Monroe Hospital in Bloomington; IU White Memorial Hospital in Monticello (Critical Access). We have strong relationships with all of our hospitals. Our physicians take active roles in hospital committees including Credentialing, Med Exec, FLOW, Critical Care, Stroke, and Quality Assurance. Our leaders also serve as EMS Directors for ambulance services in 6 counties (30 EMS services) and PHI Air Medical Transport.

A Career with IEC
A career with IEC opens the door for many opportunities. To begin, IEC presents a realistic opportunity to earn real ownership in the practice. It is the unique opportunity to profit and share in the success of our growing business. In addition, you will be working with peers that are equally invested in our company and striving for success, an often overlooked benefit to this type of business model. A career with IEC also gives you the correct contacts for furthering your passion and dedication to emergency medicine. Numerous IEC providers hold other positions, either on the floor or on an administrative level. Some of our providers are ED Medical Directors or Directors for Ambulance Services and Volunteer EMS. Why stop with a career in the Emergency Room when you can spread your knowledge and compassion to other areas of Emergency Medicine? IEC offers Leadership Mentoring Programs such as pairing ED-EMS Directors with Assistant ED-EMS Directors and an ED Directors Academy.
Scribes
Our annual patient volumes range from 5,000 to 45,000+ visits per year.
In order to keep up with our volumes, we utilize EMR and scribe staff to improve provider efficiency. Today emergency department physicians are struggling to keep pace with a growing patient population. By utilizing scribes, physicians are able to spend more time talking with patients and less time dictating and documenting their work. The scribes are undergraduate students who work side by side with our providers as they examine the patients, review lab results, and determine a treatment plan. Our scribe program along with the outstanding physician leadership at IEC allows us to provide the highest level of patient care quality and improves patient through-put in the emergency department.
